My Ramadhan Routine - written by Nurul Alya Asilah

Ramadhan is a month for all muslims to fasting.Fasting in the month of Ramadhan is one of the five pillars of islam and its obligation to all muslims. The main reason muslims need to fast is to make the rich be more merciful and realize the pain of hungry towards poor people who need to struggle to get food. Through self-control during fasting, a muslim can practices good manners, good habits and healthy lifestyle.

On June 20th, 2015 was the day I had to register in college and it was first time that I had fasting away from family. Thus,it was kind a hard fasting on first week cause I did not know any of my dormmates. Then, I had to go through a week long orientation that held in a hall infront of our hostel. Eventhough, it was exhausting week, I'm glad that I was able to gain experience, friends, and build my confidence.

Besides that,my daily routine during fasting at home was different when I'm in hostel. At home, my mother was the one that cook for our family for sahur and iftar. I waked up at 5.00 a.m for sahur and I would slept again after subuh untill 8.30 a.m. Then,I would help my mother clean the living room and watched television with my family. When the time came for prayer,we would perfomed prayer together. In the evening,I would help my mother prepared for iftar.Sometimes I would accompany my father to bazar ramadhan and bought some food that had been listed by mother. After iftar, we would get ready to go to the mosque for performed isha' prayer and 'tarawih'.

When I'm in hostel,I had to be more independent. I had to wake up at 4.00 a.m early in the morning and thanks to my lovely friend for being my alarm clock'. After subuh, my friends and I would get ready to attend our classes at 8.30 a.m and waited for the bus at 7.30 a.m. we have to be punctual to go to the class or we will be kick out from the class. After class, we would hang out together at the shopping mall near to our campus while wating for bus. At 6.30 p.m, we had reserved our seat at the food court infront of our hostel cause during iftar the food court going to be crowded with people. After iftar, we would go to the mosque and finish up our assignment before going to bed.

In conclusion, we must be adapt to the new environment and be more independent where ever we are.we could have a structured life through planning. We also need to be more punctual so we can get the benefits.I hope who ever read this entry, will gain new info and live with happy life.
